Industry & Tech
Collaboration
The Korea-U.S. Shipbuilding and Marine Industry & Technology Cooperation Center is a cooperation platform established
to promote industrial and technological cooperation in the shipbuilding and marine sectors between Korea and the United States and to identify future cooperation opportunities.
Based on a permanent cooperation base in the United States, this center
establishes a network among the governments, research institutes, universities, companies, and industries of both nations, and
supports a strategic partnership between the United States, which is driving the reconstruction of its shipbuilding industry, and Korea, which possesses world-class shipbuilding capabilities.
The Center performs core functions including establishing a foundation for Korea-US shipbuilding and Offshore cooperation, analyzing industry, technology, and policy trends, providing Shipyard Productivity Improvement Consulting Services, and identifying joint research and cooperation projects.
In particular, in response to the workforce shortage, supply chain restructuring, eco-friendly transition, and digitalization demands facing the U.S. shipbuilding industry , we operate educational programs and technology cooperation networks to support Korean companies' entry into the U.S. market and the expansion of Korea-U.S. joint R&D.
In addition, the Center has established policy, industry, and technology cooperation hubs centered in Washington, D.C., and Houston, serving as a liaison with the U.S. federal government, shipyards, research institutions, and the industrial sector.
The Korea-US Shipbuilding Partnership Center is creating a new model for future shipbuilding industry cooperation as a strategic hub for strengthening the industrial competitiveness of both countries and establishing a sustainable shipbuilding and marine ecosystem.
