from the Head

Welcome to the Korea-U.S. Shipbuilding Partnership Center (KUSPC). It is my great pleasure to welcome you to our website.

The global shipbuilding and maritime industries are undergoing profound transformation, driven by supply chain resilience, maritime security, and the transition toward green and digital technologies. In this evolving landscape, strategic cooperation between the Republic of Korea—with its world-class shipbuilding and manufacturing capabilities—and the United States—focused on revitalizing its maritime industrial base—is more critical than ever.

KUSPC was established to translate this bilateral partnership into tangible results. Our core mission is to serve as a trusted bridge connecting governments, industries, research institutions, and academia across both nations.

To advance this mission, KUSPC will:

  • Facilitate Collaboration: Promote joint R&D, workforce development, and professional exchange programs, including the Masters Academy and specialized seminars.
  • Support Market Entry & Investments: Assist Korean maritime and equipment companies in entering the U.S. market while connecting them directly with U.S. shipyards and stakeholders.
  • Build Lasting Networks: Provide an open platform to share industry policies, technological insights, and strategic business opportunities.

By combining the technological excellence of Korea with the vast market, research, and industrial strengths of the United States, KUSPC aims to be a sustainable hub driving mutual growth and maritime innovation.

We invite your continued interest and active participation as we work together to build a stronger, more resilient future for both nations.

Thank you.

Jong Lee
Head, Korea-U.S. Shipbuilding Partnership Center (KUSPC)
